Walter Williams, 33, of Philadelphia, was arrested on May 23 after a raid on his Hillside Motel room in Glen Mills (Delaware County) yielded 125 grams of raw fentanyl valued at $12,500, 90 bags of packaged fentanyl valued at $2,000, and drug paraphernalia, Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said.
Williams became the center of an investigation in March after detectives learned he was making regular drug deliveries to Chester County and surrounding counties, they said.
The investigation took a turn when investigators bought drugs from Williams approimately three times between April and May in East Bradford Township, they said.
Authorities said they purchased five bundles of heroin/fentanyl on April 21, ten on April 26, and ten more on May 4.
After the May 23 motel room raid, Williams was charged with multiple counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity, criminal use of a communication facility, and related offenses for selling fentanyl and heroin.
“Considering it takes far less than a gram for fentanyl to be lethal, this seizure by Chester County Detectives and HIDTA had the potential to cause hundreds of drug overdose deaths," DA Ryan said.
Williams was being held at Chester County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail.
